P.J. Hare Ltd is a market leader in the manufacture of hydraulic production presses. The company has produced more than 15000 presses since 1947 exploiting the inherent versatility of hydraulic power. Today Hare designers combine this feature with sophisticated electro-hydraulic equipment and PLC control to provide a standard of productivity, reliability and safety not available from the traditional crank press. Hare's latest HPD range of presses with digital control will adjust all parameters in seconds when the operator selects a new tool on the touch screen. Parameters include ram movement and speeds, shutheight, load and dwell on load.

A large part of Hare's business is supplying fully integrated press and tooling solutions. Hare's Tooling division specialises in zero defect assembly operations. The precise load control of a hydraulic press and the availability of modern measuring and sensing devices enable Hare Tooling to provide cost effective solutions to difficult problems. The press selected from Hare's range of standard presses will be tailored to suit the application if necessary and will be available for retooling when the production life of the component comes to an end. Compared to a special purpose press or machine there will be attractive cost savings and no problem with spares support.
